Rise Against, Polar Bear Club and Tom Morello
I went to see Rise Against again last night and it was undoubtedly one of my favourite gigs of all time, rivalling only Green Day and Frank Turner.
Tim McIlrath is a beautiful beautiful man, and I would do unspeakable things to him. And, after seeing them twice before, he finally did an acoustic section of Swing Life Away and Hero Of War that nearly brought me to tears.. I managed to hold my own though, somehow.
This is the kind of music that really is very, very good. It’s a far cry from my usual indie/pop/rock collection but somehow it fits in brilliantly; their lyrics, stage presence and music are all fantasic. Being at the very front was a treat, I couldn’t see a thing at Leeds Festival and the first gig of theirs I went to I was too busy trying not to be crushed..
They aren’t the best quality but I only had my little camera with me, my canon was safe at home. Hope you enjoy the photos, if you ever get chance I highly recommend you go to one of their gigs.
The entire night was brillint too, more than the music. It’s funny how things work out..
Anyway, I’d love to write more but I’m exceptionally busy at the moment! And I’m sure my lovely friend Bert will write an excellent review on it, I’m looking forward to reading it.
Katy B tonight!
